Three organizations have been awarded funding under the Nova Scotia Lighthouse Project to address childhood obesity and chronic disease in the province.

Childhood obesity can lead to a wide range of critical health conditions. By addressing the complex causes of childhood obesity, we can help prevent the chronic conditions that reduce our youth’s quality of life, and contribute to high healthcare costs in Nova Scotia.

As such, three organizations have been awarded funding under the Nova Scotia Lighthouse Project to address childhood obesity and chronic disease in the province. The successful applicants are Acadia University, Upward Mobility Kitchens East Inc., and Wasoqopa’q First Nation. The total amount of funding is $1.05 million.
